Weiss eventually wrote a radio dramatization about the Farm Hall story which the BBC performed a year before the transcriptions of the recordings were released in 1992. The subject is still controversial and is told in great detail in the book HEISENBERG’S WAR by Tom Powers, Knopf, New York, 1993. During this period Goudsmit took over the editorship of the Physical Review with Si Pasternak, his assistant. On one occasion Goudsmit had received an enormously long theoretical paper from John Wheeler on the theory of fission.
